Hatsune Miku Append
Series: Vocaloid
Character: Hatsune Miku
Version: Append
Debuted At: Anime Expo 2011
Awards Won:
1st Place Winner in the CosplayGen/ Crypton Mikubook Community's Choice Contest
Details:This costume was a big dream of Sheila's for some time and is considered one of her favorite's to share. Mostly, her costume was based off the box art and the MAX factory figure.
The wig was purchased from Charissa Kids on Ebay.
First, Sheila altered a white gymnastics leotard, stripping the center to open in the front (body adhesive was used to keep the costume lying flat.) The 'floating tie' was made from craft foam pieces, with a wire in between them and then attached to the leotard. The anti-gravity belt was made from a base utility belt, with two red puck lights attached to chipboard and craft foam pieces. The floating circles, hair pieces, white anklet, and white hanging strips were made from plastic painted planter containers. The clear flower petals were made from clear plastic folders with painted tips. Finally, regular leggings and gloves were cut and altered to the design. Glow in the dark stickers were applied in the required places.
Instead of going barefoot, Sheila wore clear platform heels to give off the illusion of floating.
